I
AM LINUS!!
MISSING OCTOBER 12, 2011
WILMORE, KENTUCKY
FOUND
NOVEMBER 18, 2011
| On
the evening of November 18, 2011, my dad and mom went to
visit friends who live in the country about 3 miles from
town. As they were walking to the car to go home, they heard
meowing and looked to see me running towards them from the
darkness. No explanation for how I got so far from home
(at a friend's house yet!) Neither mom or dad had been down
to this address in months. Everyone is thrilled and praising
God that I am now home. I lost about three pounds, have
a few scrapes and bites from a couple of fights, but am
otherwise healthy. I am now micro-chipped and wear a red
collar. |
What
is this page all about? Well, it is about me. And it is about
my family who are grieving my loss. You see, on October 12,
my mom let me out after breakfast. The day was nice, the birds
were just starting to sing their morning songs of praise as
the sun was reddening the eastern sky. She opened the window
(how I always went out) and with my morning chirppy-like meow
I jumped out to the porch. I paused for a moment, sniffed the
crisp morning air. Mom closed the window and turned back to
her morning things. And never saw me again. That moment
is burned into her mind. I had always enjoyed going out into
God's creation, what reason was there to think this day would
be different? But it was. Like so many other tragedies that
overtake us, there was no way of knowing that I would disappear.
When she came home from work that night, I did not greet her
on the front step as usual. When she called, I did not come
for supper. She began walking around the block betwen S. Walnut
and S. Maple, Main and E. Linden where I have most of my territory.
She did not find me. That night, sadness and fear already in
their hearts, my family went to bed praying I'd be meowing for
my breakfast in the morning. But it was not to be.
My
family have no clues as to what became of me. Nothing to suggest
I met a road accident. No foul-smelling areas have popped up
in town. I have literally vanished without a trace. It has been
comforting that many kind people in town have said they are
looking for me. Several have called my family thinking they
might have seen me and mom or dad have rushed to check out every
siting. But so far, none of the kitties seen have been me. They
are happy to check, because the next phone call might be me!
And each possible siting gives hope.
I
was born into my family four years ago. my kitty-mom lives with
my family, too, and this family is the only family I have ever
known. I did not choose to leave my family. Cats, unlike dogs,
do not just go off to explore the world. We have territories
that we guard and protect. I would not have left my territory
by my own doing. For whatever reason, I am unable to return
and that is why I need your help.
What
can you do? (Glad you asked!)
| 1.
Look for me in places where kitties would hide. Under bushes,
in sheds, garages, or crawl spaces. Remember I will be really
afraid! |
| 2.
If you think you have seen me, call my family |
| 3.
Do not try to catch me yourself! If possible, just keep
watching me and call my family right away at 859-797-1879
anytime, day or night! |
